Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hard surfaces

A comeback Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, winning just one win at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in especial - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, he has consistently advanced in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from that period of that year.

Success also signifies Medvedev has won 21 titles at twenty-one various events.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter Victoria, because the first title I got when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his skill to play at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair exchanged break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden professional victory, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game chances in a competitive third set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
